South Walton Fire District 2026 Polar Bear Plunge

We are thrilled to welcome the community for this 11th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar. Funds collected at the event will benefit South Walton Fire District's community education programs.

❄️ Sign-up is online only. You can sign up ahead of time or on the day of the event, but must do it online.

❄️ There will be a costume contest at 12 p.m. It's open to all plunge participants!

❄️ We will officially plunge into the New Year at 1 p.m. This event is family-friendly.

❄️ Cost of attendance for plunge participants will be $20 per person and you receive a free event towel with your entry fee. Children 12 years old and under plunge for FREE, but they do not receive the event towel so we have enough supplies for all who pay to attend.

❄️ After the plunge is over, join us back at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar to celebrate the start of the New Year.

**DISCLAIMER: South Walton Fire District personnel will closely monitor beach and surf conditions leading up to the event. In the event of double red flag surf conditions, the event will NOT be canceled. We will move forward with a contingency plan.**
