About this Event

This month: We will explore Riverdale Regional Park; a jewel of Adams County open spaces. There is a nice lake and easy access to the South Platte River to help us celebrate "weird duck" season :) We will meet at the Adams County Veterans Memorial parking lot.

More about SPBC: South Platte Birding Club creates community and celebrates the ecosystem of the South Platte River. We meet monthly, choosing a unique birding location along the river each time. Each outing begins with snacks, conversation, and a brief presentation about an aspect of the river. Outings vary from traditional bird walks to stationary birding, depending on the interest and needs of participants. Binoculars, spotting scopes, and field guides are provided.

This club is meant for birders of all levels; Bird Conservancy will provide mentorship to new birders but also encourage the sharing of knowledge among all participants.

Accessibility Information:

• Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are available.
• Plan for around 1-1.5 miles of traveling on even, relatively flat surfaces with little to no incline.
• Accessible parking is available.
• There will be little shade while we are walking/birding. Bring plenty of water and sun protection.
• Some adaptive equipment is available for this event such as camp chairs and a scope adapter.
