About this Event
The South of England Regional Dissection Education Day 2026 is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary event dedicated to advancing the understanding and management of aortic dissection across the patient pathway.
Bringing together leading experts in surgery, cardiology, emergency medicine, imaging, anaesthesia, and specialist nursing, this one-day programme offers a structured journey from the underlying mechanisms of aortic dissection through to acute management, diagnosis, and long-term care.
The programme is divided into three focused sessions:
- From Tear to Treatment explores pathophysiology, classification, and modern surgical and endovascular management strategies.
- Spot It, Scan It, Move It highlights early recognition, emergency imaging, and the importance of coordinated regional pathways and rapid transfer systems.
- Beyond Survival addresses genetics, patient experience, psychological recovery, and lifelong surveillance and care.
With a combination of expert-led talks, real patient perspectives, and multidisciplinary discussions, the day is designed to enhance clinical knowledge, improve decision-making, and support better outcomes for patients with aortic dissection.
This event is ideal for healthcare professionals involved in acute, surgical, and long-term management of aortic disease, as well as those interested in improving regional pathways and collaborative care.
