South Indian Dosa Masterclass – A Hands-On Kitchen Experience

Learn how to cook one of South India’s most loved dishes, the dosa. The class is suitable for those over 18 years.

We will make 3 types of dosa: fermented batter, stuffed paneer (a type of masala dosa), and a lentil version without pre-soaking (a unique, quicker version).

You’ll also learn to make the classic sides that go with dosa:

• Coconut mint chutney and red chutney (quick lentil version)
• Sambhar – a warm, spiced lentil and vegetable dish
• Sambhar spice mix – we’ll even make this from scratch.

You’ll learn tips on:

• How to ferment batter,
• The right consistency, and
• How to spread and cook dosa to get it crispy or soft

This small group experience is perfect for those who love fresh food, new tastes, and friendly company.

What to Expect:

It is a watch-and-learn cooking experience:

• I will be doing the main cooking demonstrations on the stove,
• You’ll learn all the techniques and ask questions along the way,
• You’ll get to spread and stuff the dosas, and
• At the end, we’ll sit together and enjoy the full meal (see what's included below)

📍 Location:

We will meet at the New Addington tram stop at 10:30 AM and walk with me to the venue.

To get to the New Addington tram stop, take the 20-minute tram from East Croydon station and get off at the last stop at New Addington. If driving, there is free car parking at the venue.
