Communities everywhere are grappling with how best to grow. How to balance opportunity with responsibility, and how to create spaces that support people, businesses, and future generations. The South Campus project sits at the heart of that conversation in Lethbridge.Located west of the Oldman River and south of the University of Lethbridge, these lands offer a rare, once-in-a-generation chance to shape a new kind of neighbourhood. A neighbourhood that reflects community needs, local values, and long-term potential. Whether one is excited about what development can bring or cautious about how it may unfold, the South Campus initiative asks an important question: How can we build a place that strengthens both the university and the broader Lethbridge community? In this session, we’ll walk through the extensive public engagement that informed the
concept, the guiding principles behind the design, and the governance model created to ensure that any development delivers value, accountability, and lasting benefit.
Speaker: Trevor Lewington, Board Chair, University of Lethbridge Property Group
With many years of executive leadership experience in the food processing industry, in addition to living the trials and tribulations of a small business owner combined with additional roles in the public sector, Trevor strives to provide a broad-based perspective and collaborative approach which will enhance initiatives that drive continued economic growth in southern Alberta. Trevor is currently the Director of Growth & Engagement at Lethbridge County.
Trevor holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Human Resource Management, completed a Change Leadership Certificate with Cornell University and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). Trevor is also a Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) through the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Date/Time: Thursday, January 29, 2026. The presentation begins at 12 noon & concludes at 1 pm.
Cost is free, donations however, are gratefully accepted.
