It's getting to be that time of year again to start thinking about the Souper Bowl Day of Caring! Sunday, February 9 is the big day! Each year on Super Bowl Sunday we celebrate with one another immediately after worship and well-before the big game by enjoying a wonderful selection of soups, chowders, or chilies created by our own members. In a spirit of friendly competition, after sampling each entry we cast our vote for our personal favorite. Bragging rights are at stake here, and the chef who receives the most votes is awarded the very prestigious Souper Bowl Day of Caring trophy and is forever immortalized by enshrinement in the Berwick Presbyterian Soup Hall of Fame located in our church basement. What is needed is volunteers who can whip up a great soup, chowder, or chili. If you're not into that we would sure welcome a dessert. So, dig out your favorite recipes! Other soups not entered in the cookoff will be available for purchase to take home, and monetary donations will be gladly accepted. All monies received will be donated to our local food pantry.
And don't forget to wear the gear/apparel/colors of your favorite team...NFL, college, or high school, even if they're not in the big game that day! Show your spirit and let's have some fun!!!
