A fantastic movie, a remarkable artist, a night to remember. Join us April 21 at the Ironwood Stage & Grill for a very special SoundUP YYC Movie Night XI featuring a screening and live music performance to commemorate the 10-year-anniversary of the passing of the mighty Prince. We'll be showing the wee one's classic 1984 flick Purple Rain followed by a not-to-be missed live concert from Scott Morin's Purple Jazz.
It's a long-awaited, heavily-anticipated encore show by the hotshot ensemble which features some of the city's heaviest jazz hitters. The are-you-kidding-me? band features:
Scott Morin - alto Saxophone, bandleader
Angela Wrigley - vocals
Richard Harding - tenor saxophone
Johnny Summers - trumpet
Sheldon Zandboer - keyboards
Kodi Hutchinson - upright and electric bass
Jim Johnston - Drums
With special guests Kirby Sewell (vocals), Maren Hancock (rap/vocals) and Bob Fenske (percussion). And MORE to be announced!

They'll be performing a set of Prince favourites, giving them their own unique and incredible twist.
There will also be a pre-film/performance chat, with Morin and I sharing our oft-heard and bragged-about brushes with the brilliant man
