Join us to hear about the extrordinary history of bats and their incredible abilities, and the evolutionary phemonena of insect sounds and how they have influenced technology.


Two talks from local experts:

Nick Tomlinson - Bats: The Real Stars of the Night!

What are bats, how long have they been around, how do they live and how do they see things without sight?

David Hardie - Insects and Sound: what can we learn?

Insects and arthropods have been crawling over the planet for nearly half a billion years. They have evolved to become sophisticated animals, able to sense their surroundings and communicate with one another. Their intriguing phenomena such as sound and vibration can help us humans develop technology.
