SOUNDS OF ISTANBUL KADIN KOROSU KONSERI

Sounds of Istanbul Women's Choir was founded in 2022 by Aslıhan Erkisi, a faculty member of the Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory. In a short period, the choir became the first women’s choir in New Jersey.

The choir's repertoire spans from the delicate makam music of the Ottoman era to modern Turkish compositions. With the powerful yet delicate voices of its members, the choir offers a deeply emotional and aesthetic experience to its audience.

Sounds of Istanbul Women's Choir not only brings the sounds of Istanbul and Turkish music to the world but also aims to preserve and promote Turkey’s cultural heritage on international platforms. The choir’s success so far promises a bright future, and it continues to introduce the rich history of Istanbul through the strong voices of women in the arts.
