About this Event
This cultural celebration highlights the shared musical contributions of the US and Nigeria, focusing on Gullah Geechee Spirituals such as Kumbaya. Featured performers including Smithsonian Folkways Recording artist Brenton Jordan, historian Griffin Lotson, Nigerian conductors/musical directors Sir Emeka Nwokedi and Albert Gomez, and the Diocesan Choir of Lagos Mainland (Anglican). The program is hosted by the TKE Phillips Foundation for Music in collaboration with Morehouse College, the Atlanta University Center Consortium and the US Consulate Lagos.
