Around 6000 BC, our ancestors made the first musical instrument: the drum. The drum has been used throughout human history in every culture on Earth. The beat of the drum has the power to relax, energize and transport us. Science has studied the effects of repetitive rhythms on the brain, and has discovered that drumming quickly alters our brain patterns. The drum provides a rhythm and beat to help guide you into a dream-like state where you can access the subconscious parts of yourself and journey to receive wisdom.
Michelle will gently lead us in explaining the journey experience. She will hold space and drum for participants as they journey, voice guiding in the beginning to enable connection and clarity for both the inexperienced and experienced journeyers. Please bring a journal or something to write down or draw your experience. Reflecting on the experience can help facilitate growth, understanding, and action in life.
What to Bring:
• You truly only need to bring yourself and an open heart and mind to the event
• You can either lie down or sit to journey. If you would like to lie down, please bring a mat and whatever else you need for comfort. We have chairs if you would like to sit.
• Journal
• Bring your drum or rattles. We will circle up after the journey and play together!
