The Dirtmerchant
Kyle ‘The Dirtmerchant’ Hyneman began his drum and bass journey in 1998 at the ripe age of 12. After being introduced to hip hop/rap music through his older brother Rick’s influence at early childhood, [he says] the natural progression to Jungle & Drum and Bass just made sense.
Inspired by his Drum and Bass (DnB) influences The Dirtmerchant [age 14] worked to secure a set of turntables to pursue his passion for DnB further. After completing that mission, he hasn’t spent a day without the turntables by his side. Kyle founded Proper Movement Drum and Bass in Portland Oregon in 2007 facilitating a weekly event patroned by thousands of Portlanders and featuring both national and international drum and bass acts.
Throughout his tenure in both the American drum and bass scene as a DJ and through work on his Proper Movement events The Dirtmerchant has been booked on top billings alongside:

He has found success in both production, and as an artist, building an extensive catalog with major label industry names to credit. Drum and Bass/Jungle, Hip Hop, and Turntable-ism across live performances, streaming platforms, and digital content creation.
