Join us to unwind your mind at Boochie Bar - Acai & Kombucha Café this fall for Sound Baths at Boochie - a series of restorative and immersive sound baths that invite you into a deeper state of consciousness, serve as an opportunity to unplug and relax, and promote self-inquiry/discovery.
During our Spooky Sonic Journey on October 24, Matty Makowski, a Rockford-based, certified Sound Healing Practitioner, Reiki Master, and owner of Matty Sunshine Sound Healing, plays 8 crystal singing bowls, a Heng gong, Tingsha cymbals, and more instruments with historical reputations for promoting healing and relaxation. Also, guests are invited to wear cozy costumes.
WHAT IS A SOUND BATH? Sound healing is based on the principle that everything in the universe is comprised of energy, frequencies, and vibrations, and that specific sounds, vibrations, and frequencies can be used to balance and harmonize this energy inside each of us. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, non-invasive, full-body listening experience during which various instruments produce these sounds, frequencies, and vibrations that have the power to shift brainwaves into a deeply relaxed state. In this state, your nervous system can relax and release stuck/stagnant energy, emotions, and trauma, allowing your natural healing abilities to work more effectively. This can help bring you back into vibrational and energetic alignment across mind, body, and spirit.
WHEN: Saturday, October 24, from 6:00-7:30 PM
WHERE: Boochie Bar - Acai & Kombucha Café - 39 Courtland St, Rockford, MI 49341
TICKETS: $30 per person (includes 60-minute sound bath + complimentary kombucha sampler)
*Due to limited space, please register via the link above and then finalize your registration by sending the $30 admission via Venmo to Jennifer Bullis-Makowski, Boochie Bar Owner, at venmo.com/jennifermakowski (#4322) or pay in-person at Boochie Bar during open hours.*
WHAT TO BRING: We recommend bringing a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, cozy costume or other clothes, and water. Depending on the thickness of your yoga mat, you may also consider bringing something additional to lay on top of, like an extra blanket, sleeping bag, or even a pool float. Please let us know in advance if you will require a chair or other accommodations and bring a towel or blanket to place over the chair.
ACCESSIBILITY: Please note this experience takes place on Boochie Bar’s second floor and attendees must be able to use stairs.
