To a child’s nervous system, moments of shame, humiliation and rejection can feel like a threat to survival — They experiences create unhelpful automatic trigger responses in adulthood.
Many unhelpful adult behaviours come from small experiences that mattered deeply at the time. That’s the trauma I’m talking about.
