About the Artist:

Russel Arelis is a multifaceted Filipina artist working as a Freelance Graphic Designer, Illustrator/Painter and DJ in Oakland, CA for over 20yrs.

She/They is currently creating a body of work in watercolors and acrylic, which is largely focused on portraits and communities that impact their city and their influence to thrive despite austerity.

Her/Their Graphic Design work can be found alongside queer events, creating digital Illustrations for non profits and grassroot organizations.

Russel Arelis' goal is to articulate the importance of visibility and representation of bipoc-women and celebration of human form.
