Soothing Herbs for Stressful Times
Advertisement
Meet the herbs who can help calm our anxieties and aggravations, and learn to make a simple folk extract (tincture). We will visit with skullcap, motherwort, oats, blue vervain, California poppy, lemon balm, chamomile, lavender, rose and other calming nervines in garden and field at lovely Tippin’ Rock Farm—and learn growing, foraging and harvesting tips. We’ll talk about using these herbs in such preparations as teas, extracts and elixirs. Then you’ll make your own extract to take home for a little nervous system support. Choice of plants to use depends on what’s blooming and abundant at the time. Light rain or shine; we’ll have an indoor space to craft. Cost is $30, with some materials provided. (Sliding scale available—pay what you can). Sign up early, space is limited; e-mail [email protected].
