About this Event
Nicholas Kristof, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, is celebrated for his fearless reporting and deep commitment to human rights. Known as the "reporter’s reporter," Kristof has lived on four continents, reported from six, and traveled to more than 150 countries. His work has taken him through war zones, natural disasters, and humanitarian crises—experiences that have shaped his powerful and compelling journalism.
Kristof, along with his wife Sheryl WuDunn, became the first husband-wife team to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1990 for their coverage of China’s Tiananmen Square democracy movement. He received his second Pulitzer in 2006 for his deeply moving and impactful reporting on the genocide in Darfur. Kristof has dedicated his career to giving voice to the voiceless, focusing on human rights, poverty, and social justice issues around the world.
Beyond journalism, Kristof is the co-author of five best-selling books, including Half the Sky and Tightrope, both of which have been turned into acclaimed PBS documentary series. His newest work, Chasing Hope: A Reporter’s Life, offers a personal reflection on his remarkable career.
A longtime columnist for The New York Times, Kristof has covered topics ranging from presidential politics to international crises, interviewing figures such as President Obama and Iranian President Ahmadinejad. His storytelling captivates audiences, inspiring them to engage in global issues and create positive change.
Described by CNN's Jeffrey Toobin as "the moral conscience of our generation of journalists" and by George Clooney as a key influence in his humanitarian efforts, Kristof’s lectures are moving, thought-provoking, and unforgettable.
Nicholas Kristof will be interviewed by SSS Board Member, David McCuan.
