Known as "In the Round," these gigs bring together 3 Songwriters, who take turns performing their own songs while sharing the personal stories and inspiration behind them.
It’s all about creating a relaxed, cosy atmosphere where the artists connect with the audience on a deeper level. You’ll hear the funny, heartfelt, and sometimes unexpected tales that shaped their music, all while they have fun bouncing off each other on stage. It’s a unique experience full of great tunes, good vibes, and stories that stay with you long after the night is over.
Meet The Songwriters
Sive is a songwriter and musician dubbed 'one of the most inspiring and exciting artists of our time' by Female First UK. Since releasing her album 'The Roaring Girl' in 2017 she has earned her stripes as a live act and has toured extensively across Ireland and beyond, sharing stages with the likes of Gemma Hayes, Lisa Hannigan, John Spillane, Kila and Christy Moore along the way.
In 2018, Sive began working with VETA Records and together they released 'We Begin in Darkness', an album that was described as 'hugely impressive' by Paul McLoone on RTE Arena. 2024 has been a busy year for Sive, with the release of a new song cycle called ‘In Cloak & Womb' which toured across folk festivals and heritage centres in the spring.
In May she released 'If I Must Die', a musical setting of the beloved poem by Palestinian poet Refaat Alareer, in aid of Doctors Without Borders Gaza Emergency Regional Fund.
Philip Scott is a Kildare singer songwriter, who has just released his album, “1086 Tully east” , a Kildaresentric view of the town, it's colourful characters and Philip's own rememberings. Tracks from this album have received airplay on RTE”s Late Date show by Fiachna Ó Braonáin.
Philip Scott is a classically trained tenor under the tutelage of Soprano Regina Nathan and vocal coach Mary Brennan RAIM. Philip has written with Andrew Strong (The Commitments), KJ Mcevoy (Blues Artist), Chiara Browne (Australian-Singer-songwriter), Nicky Brennan (Picture this) and has also worked with Clive Martin, an Engineer Producer of Sting's (Bring on the night live album) /Crowded house (Temple of low men)/ Les Negresse Verte).
Phil has performed in venues across Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, including the National Concert Hall (Main Room) with his one man show “The Songs of John McCormack” He is currently playing his music in small venues across the country.
Pete Kavanagh, a Kildare based singer-songwriter, released his critically acclaimed debut album, Join up the Dots, in November 2021. The first single from this album, To Hold the Red Rose, reached the semi-finals of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, where one of the judges was Tom Waits, one of Pete's musical heroes. Join Up the Dots received glowing reviews and plenty of airplay since its release. It was voted Best Irish Album 2022 by Hardcore Country-Americana-Roots magazine Lonesome Highway.
One of Pete’s songs, Darkness Before Dawn, features on the latest Christy Moore album, ‘A Terrible Beauty’. Christy says:
“Pete Kavanagh from Naas wrote this ballad …. it’s short and complete and describes a reckless and subsequently disastrous IRA raid on the NAAFI store in my home town of Newbridge…. It would have been a justifiable raid on the English Army of occupation had there not been an innocent civilian family asleep upstairs. This awful event took place 100 yards from our home in Moorefield Terrace. Yet I heard nothing of this tragedy until Pete’s fine song came my way.” - Christy Moore | Source: https://www.christymoore.com/october-2024/
Pete has shared the stage with and supported artists such as Jerry Fish, Mundy, Paddy Casey, Eleanor Shanley, Freddie White, Martin Stephenson, Luka Bloom, Mary Black, Scullion, Victoria Keating and Declan Sinnott …
Pete is currently showcasing new songs and is set to perform a series of low-key, solo, acoustic and intimate gigs over the coming months. He is also a founding member of The Muddy River Band, who are currently performing at venues nationwide.
