Songs of the River Ganga: Shantanu Moitra's multimedia production tracing the journey of the Ganges from Gangotri to Gangasagar Renowned for his artistic explorations beyond the realms of conventional music, Shantanu Moitra embarked on an expedition along the majestic river Ganga. Cycling over 2,700 kilometers from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar, he traversed five states and diverse topographies, uncovering a wealth of unique stories and experiences along the way. Transformed into a stage event, Songs of the River Ganga is an immersive musical journey, seamlessly blending storytelling with live musical performances, enhanced by audiovisual and artistic production support. Each episode of Moitra’s journey is brought to life onstage, providing a multi-sensory experience that transports the audiences to the heart of the Ganges. Celebrated artistes of the Indian music world join Moitra in this presentation: Kaushiki Chakraborty known for her mastery of classical music; Ambi Subramaniam, a violin virtuoso; Mohit Chauhan, a well-known playback singer; Sid Sriram, an artiste associated with the genre of R & B, Hansikaa Pareek, a dynamic young singer; and Taba Chake, a prominent Indie singer-songwriter. The ensemble also includes a chorus by a group of children. This concert is not just a performance, but an exploration of the Ganges and its cultural, spiritual and emotional essence through the universal language of music.
