Celebrate 250 years of American music! From early patriotic anthems to musical theater! From gospel and spirituals to classical music by American composers! This choral performance will have a multitude of American musical flavors to satisfy every artistic taste. A true celebration of American music, we also celebrate the people and people groups who have made this country’s exceptional music. “American” music was composed and sung in the halls of great conservatories, on the streets of Broadway, on the trails which escaped slaves fled, around campfires, in churches grand and humble, in the garage where a rock band rehearsed, and in a small jazz club. It has been made by both the rich and poor, the black and white, the loved and unloved, the angry and peaceful. Come celebrate the songs and people of this nation with a chorus of 130 fabulous local vocalists!
