It was the year Bruce Springsteen broke out with his first hit ‘Born to Run’, Led Zeppelin released their opus Physical Graffiti (featuring the epic ‘Kashmir’), David Bowie reinvented himself with ‘Golden Years’, ‘Fame’, and ‘Young Americans’, Fleetwood Mac topped the charts with “Rhiannon’, Bob Dylan hit top gear with arguably his best album ‘Blood on the Tracks’, Neil Young released two albums ‘Tonight’s the Night’, and ‘Zuma’, and Willie Nelson had a number one hit with ‘Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain’, and the list goes on… The Honey Sliders will play all of these songs plus many more, live on stage, in a night to remember.
Expect wall-to-wall classics, deep cuts, and sing-along moments that defined a generation. If you love the music of the ’70s, this is your night.
There’s another reason this show matters. 1975 is also the year Honey Sliders bandleader Danny Widdicombe was born — making this a 50th birthday celebration like no other. It also marks 30 years since Danny’s first leukaemia diagnosis, a journey that has seen him face — and beat — the disease three times. This show is about survival, resilience, gratitude, and joy. And yes… it’s going to be one hell of a party.
Since 2013, The Honey Sliders have built a reputation for creating immersive, lovingly crafted themed concerts, with past shows celebrating The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Band, and Neil Young, alongside special guests including Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, Troy Cassar-Daley, Jeff Lang and more. These shows are labours of love — obsessed over, rehearsed hard, and delivered with total respect for the music.
