About this Event

Somewhere by Yan Jiang: A Solo Art Exhibition | Feb 5 - 28, 2026

Step into Yan Jiang’s contemplative world in Somewhere, her solo exhibition exploring the everyday through a different lens. These works on paper capture ordinary, overlooked spaces and reimagine them as something both familiar and unexpected, that are gradually slipping out of place. The exhbitiong explores the tension between the familiar and the unfamiliar and how these opposing sensations can coexist at the same time.

Yan Jiang is a Chinese Canadian illustrator studying at RISD. Growing up in a quiet town outside Toronto, she learned to observe closely and let her thoughts wander. She draws inspiration from nature and people, working with gouache and mixed media.

The exhibition runs through February 28. Selected originals are available for purchase, as well as Yan's smaller works — postcards and stickers— can be found at Loohoo's Artist of the Month Shrine. Drop in 11AM–6PM Wednesday–Sunday at 1380 Queen St W to see and shop their work in person.

🖌 Exhibition Programming: Workshop
As part of the exhibition, Yan will host a workshop on Sunday, February 8, 6:30–8:30 PM. Stay tuned for details!
