We’re bringing every SOMC graduate back together for a six-event celebration of major milestones, including the 45th reunion of our 1981 charter class, the Genetic Counseling program’s 40th year, and MD reunions for the classes of 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021.

  • FRIDAY, APRIL 17 (5:30-7:00 pm): New School of Medicine Building Tour
Be among the first to walk the halls of our future home. Get a behind‑the‑scenes look at the site and walk through emerging spaces that will soon support the next generation of South Carolina's health leaders and researchers. Join fellow alumni, faculty, and staff to experience how the future of medicine is being built.
  • FRIDAY, APRIL 17 (7:00-10:00 pm): All-Alumni Roast & Toast
Enjoy a spirited evening with the entire SOMC family featuring fresh oysters and heavy hors d'oeuvres, an open bar with a specialty champagne toast, live band entertainment, and shared stories, jokes, and heartfelt tributes from the podium.
  • SATURDAY, APRIL 18 (11:30 am-1:00 pm): From Memories to Milestones Brunch
Savor a progressive-style brunch across the current VA campus. Alumni will walk down familiar hallways, revisit classrooms and labs that shaped their journeys, and reconnect with the spirit of the SOMC as they meet today's faculty and students. Reserved for reunion classes only.
  • SATURDAY, APRIL 18 (6:00-8:00 pm): Gene Jubliee
Join Genetic Counseling alumni and friends for an evening that celebrates four decades of the program's impact and the community that shaped it. Enjoy a festive gathering filled with connection, shared memories, and a sweet nod to the program's 40th year.
  • SATURDAY, APRIL 18 (6:00-8:00 pm): Charter 45 Milestone Dinner
Members of the Class of 1981 are invited to an intimate full-course dinner with Interim Dean Gerald Harmon, MD. This special evening honors the pioneering graduates who launched the School of Medicine Columbia and continue to shape its legacy.
  • SATURDAY, APRIL 18 (7:00-9:00 pm): Ignite & Reunite Alumni Reunion Mixer
All graduates are welcome at this lively tropical‑chic reception featuring music, beer and wine, hors d’oeuvres, and the energy of reconnecting across decades and programs. It’s a vibrant close to the weekend’s celebrations and a chance to spark new memories with old friends.
