An invitation to all somanauts: join our small group inquiry into somatics and the 5Rhythms wave.
These labs will balance somatic explorations through touch, imagery, anatomy, and movement - with research and integration through dancing the 5Rhythms wave.
'Somatics' is the art of bringing awareness into our embodied selves. It's an exploration of cells, body systems - including bones, fluids and organs, as well as patterns of whole body development and organsisation.
The 'Wave' offers us a chance to warm-up and shed our day by moving through the full specturm of movement and expression. The wave also offers us a score to find our flow states, that sequences through activation, recuperation, and settling the nervous system, and offer a range of perspectives and states for inquiry and integration.
In the intimate and creative setting of the Collingwood Yards we will have opportunites for learning, teaching, moving research, in a co-creative setting.
Natalie is a certified 5Rhythms teacher offering Waves and Heartbeat level classes and workshops and has assisted the 5Rhythms teacher training. Natalie is also a Somatic Movement Educator and is currently furthering her studies in Body-Mind Centring in Europe. Natalie has a degree in Education and a Master's in Narrative Therapy and is a Clinical Supervisor for in Dance-Movement Therapy for the DTAA. "I am excited to breathe life back into our Somatic Waves research sessions."
