Somatic movement and ecstatic dance with Jane Latham

Join us on a beautiful journey of transformation, where movement becomes a potent catalyst for exploration, creativity and self-expression - where anything feels possible, and all of us is welcome.

Beginning lying on yoga mats, you'll be invited to relax completely, before flowing gently through some simple rhythmic movements to tune in to the natural intelligence of your body. By becoming intimate with the sensations being generated, you can learn to enjoy moving in ways that are deeply nourishing for both mind and body, allowing tensions to dissolve.

The ecstatic dance that follows will be very lightly facilitated to support continued connection with whatever is being felt in the moment. Expect a rich, emotive soundscape with plenty of softness and warmth, as well as lively, uplifting rhythms to help shake off any remaining tensions and let go into dancing with complete freedom - on your own or with others.

We'll integrate the journey with a soothing crystalline sound bath, before coming together for a closing circle and post-dance gathering, with healthy snacks and drinks available.

GUIDELINES

• Please arrive by 7.30 pm so we can all journey together
• No prior experience necessary, all are welcome (aged 16+)
• Dancing barefoot is ideal, but socks or dance shoes are also OK
• Feel free to dance on your own or explore connection with others
• Be respectful of boundaries - seek permission before connecting
• Aim to avoid bumping into others and interrupting their flow
• No talking in the space and put your phones on mute
• This is an alcohol and drug-free event

• Layers of clothing for dancing and relaxing at the end
• Water bottle (can be refilled)

On booking a ticket, you should receive a confirmation email with further event details. If you can't see this, check your spam folder or other email accounts you might have used. On arrival we'll either scan your QR code or check you in by your name.

PHOTO AND VIDEO

A few promotional shots will be captured sensitively during the dance - you will have the opportunity to request exclusion from these.

With over 20 years of training in spiritual and movement practices, Jane has a deeply embodied sense of the transformative power of movement. Her authentic, heart-led approach enables you to drop into the wisdom of your body and fully let go into whatever arises.

She intuitively weaves deeply emotive and expansive musical journeys, blending rich, soul-stirring soundscapes with global rhythms, deep and melodic house beats, inviting you to shake off physical and emotional tensions and let go into movement – to feel fully alive.

Known for her Dancing Freedom woodland dances in Hackney Wick, she has also played at other events including Ecstatic Dance UK, Tribalheart, Rumble Festival.
