Scientific studies have shown that stress, trauma, anxiety, & depression have physical symptoms in addition to emotional and mental symptoms. Somatic movement is moving with full-body awareness, focusing more on how you’re feeling rather than meeting a specific fitness goal. It’s a way to connect your emotions to how you’re feeling physically. When done regularly, somatic movement can benefit both the body and mind in profound ways!Join us for an evening of:
🧭OPEN THE FOUR DIRECTIONS VIA DRUMMING
-This symbolic act signifies a connection to the natural world creating a sacred space for gathering by acknowledging the balance and interconnectedness of all aspects of life represented by each direction!
🥁DRUM REPETITIVELY TOGETHER IN CIRCLE W/ FREE FLOW BODY MOVEMENT
-Repetitive drumming with body movement can stimulate the brain in many ways including releasing endorphins, increased brainwave production, increased dopamine & serotonin improved motor skills and more!
💃SOMATIC DRUM DANCE PARTY
- Somatic Dance is for anyone who can move in basic ways (sit, stand, walk, lay on the floor) who is wanting to not only reconnect with their bodies, but also to develop more trust and confidence in their whole selves. It’s is about the felt experience of the mover – the focus is what you feel, not what you look like! Or how well you can dance.
🧘🏻♀️RELAX WITH A GUIDED SOMATIC BODY SCAN & SOUND BATH
-Guided meditations and sound baths can help you relax, reduce stress, and improve your mood. They can also help you sleep better, focus more clearly, and feel more energized!
🌸INTEGRATION & SHARING TIME
-As others open up, you build a deeper sense of community within the group. Sharing is not required however!
