Have you been looking for a new movement practice? Do you want to give your thinking mind a break and get into your body? Are you interested in a safe way to move with emotional energy, find release, and have fun?
If that sounds good, join Ashley Rutledge for Somatic Dance on Mondays at 5:30pm starting on June 2nd! This isn’t your typical dance class. There is no complicated choreography, no rigid rules and no need to perform for anyone other than you. We’ll be using breathwork, affirmations, and our bodies’ uniqueness to strengthen our relationship to ourselves.
Suggested donation per participant is $15.
No dance experience necessary. All that’s needed is a willingness to liberate your inner observer, cultivate presence, and expand on joy. Each individual is the highest authority on their own experience of dance and you are encouraged to tailor the practice to meet your needs. All bodies are welcome, worthy, seen, and held on the somatic dance floor.
Ashley Rutledge is certified in the Somatic Activated Healing (SAH) Method™ and is passionate about leading spaces where people can create their own healing. She’s based in Schenectady and enjoys creative projects of all kinds. When she’s not dancing you can find her teaching children with C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studio, hiking, and walking her dog. She also teaches at Inner Bliss Yoga & Wellness.
