SOMATIC DANCE: Move What You've Been Carrying
About this Event
Your body has been holding the story your mind never finished telling.
Every unprocessed emotion, every moment you pushed through instead of feeling, every stress you swallowed to keep going — your body kept it. It lives in the tight hips, the locked shoulders, the breath that never quite drops all the way down.
The good news? What the body holds, the body can release. And it doesn't have to be heavy to be deep.
Somatic Dance is a guided, music-driven experience designed to move trauma and stored emotion out of the body — through motion, breath, and the kind of free, unselfconscious movement most of us haven't felt since we were kids. This isn't choreography. There are no steps to learn, no mirrors to perform for, nothing to get right. It's about letting your body finally do what it's been waiting to do: shake it off, soften, and feel like yours again.
Led by Dr. Samantha Harte — doctor of physical therapy, certified yoga instructor, and lifelong dancer — this workshop blends the science of how the nervous system stores and releases stress with the pure joy of moving to music. You'll be guided through gentle somatic warm-ups, breathwork, and waves of free movement that help your body discharge what it's been gripping — all in a room that's safe, judgment-free, and genuinely fun.
You'll leave feeling lighter, looser, and more at home in your own skin — like you set something down you didn't realize you were still carrying.
No dance experience needed. No "good at this" required. Just bring your body and a willingness to move.
