💫INVITATION TO MOVE💫
😍DJai Ma and BLASE invite you to join us for our June dance🔥DJai Ma is visiting us from her usual home in Te Waipounamu where she runs weekly dances for the Queenstown community. Our local maestro of sound BLASE is joining, and together they are going to be crafting an offering which is a little different. With both of them skilled in the art of facilitating and sound scape creation, they'll be mixing it up taking turns guiding with their voices and being behind the decks, with a back2back in there too! 💫🔊🔥😍
Somatic Dance is a guided free form movement journey, delving deep into the layers of the body and held in a non-judgemental space where all of you is welcome. No prior dance experience is necessary and all bodies are welcome 🤗
There are no routines or steps to follow here, simply an invitation to discover how your body wishes to move. The guided facilitation is supported by a carefully curated soundscape overseen by a DJ 🎶
This dance is an invitation for you to come and move your body to the unique rhythm of you, supporting a deeper connection with yourself and others 💃🕺
This is a space free from alcohol, shoes and talking. Let the epic music and guidance of your facilitator carry you out of your mind and into your body, allowing yourself to experience the transformative power of Somatic Dance! The music takes the form of a wave, beginning gently before building to a peak, then settling back down to land softly and slowly.
We recommend wearing clothes you are comfortable moving in (layers are great), bring along a drink bottle and a drop or two of curiosity!
Our dance spaces are designed for adults to create a space where you are able to freely explore and express your authentic self, in whichever shape and form it happens to be expressing itself. As part of this, we request that alternate arrangements are made to care for any children while you attend. If you have a child you would like to bring along, please reach out to us and we can have a chat about whether it is a possibility 🥰

⏰ We welcome you at any time from 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

We have adopted a two tier ticket option:
$20 supported dancers, we want to continue to make our dances accessible
$25 supporting dancers, for those who feel more abundant and are able to support us
If price is a barrier to attending, please reach out to us and we can work something out, an additional hand with tasks on the day is often appreciated.

DJai Ma is a DJ inspired by the mantra Jai Ma, invoking the Divine Mother.
She crafts journeys that are not bound by genre but guided by the energy of the moment.
Her sets are immersive journeys that awaken the senses and invite deep embodiment. She weaves together earthy bass, melodic house, tribal rhythms and ambient textures into soundscapes that open portals to presence and expression.
BLASE is an Auckland (NZ) based DJ & Somatic dance facilitator known for his diverse, multi-genre music journeys where dancers are guided on a curious and empowering experience out of the mind and into the body.
Blase is an alchemist of frequency and his love for dance and embodiment translates through his music, complimenting the entire journey with highs and lows, making sure every movement possibility is explored.
Together these two create a rare synergy of embodiment and musical expression effortlessly switching between DJ and facilitator for a dynamic journey that's equal parts deep as it is fun.
