About this Event
The aim of this workshop is to teach an array of modalities to help us down-regulate the nervous system ahead of or during anxious states. With knowledge comes power. When we have a variety of tools to work with, we’re better equipped to recognize our edges and tend to them.
When we become attuned to the cues and signals our body is trying to send us ahead of anxious states, we can integrate counterbalancing practices and gently recondition the physiological loop that keeps us bound within them.
In doing so, we discover how to “control of the controllables” thus improving the quality of our day to day lives. Whether it’s situational or reinforced conditioning of how we perceive our day to day experiences…
Addressing an anxious mind requires an understanding of the nervous system and how all movement forms, breathing patters, and lifestyle habits contribute to or balance out exacerbated states.
Please bring:
- Your favorite notebook and pen to write in
- Your most comfortable, coziest extras (socks, wrap/shawl, eye pillow, etc
Workshop will include:
- Micro practice sequencing (multiple, 10-20 minute practices) intended to teach attendees how to create mini sequences in real time which speak directly to relieving anxious states
- Appropriate breathing practices
- Biomechanics of the breath where it relates to anxiety
- Basic Traditional Chinese medicine basics where it relates to Anxiety
- Qigong for Anxiety
- meridian and movement meditations for anxiety
- An emailed audio recording sent out after the event
