About this Event

The Soluna String Quartet is a dynamic new ensemble composed of violinists Mariya Potapova, Jonathan Urizar, violist Cameron Rehberg, and cellist Ashlee Booth. They perform regularly across the region with ensembles such as the Asheville and Greenville Symphonies, among others, and for various performances in many different chamber music settings. Soluna is committed to performing classical masterworks of the chamber music repertoire as well as delving into contemporary works in varying genres that may not be heard as often. They are also excited about taking part in recording projects for film, recording artists, and living composers. 

Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime and seating is general admission. Online ticket sales end 1 hour prior to showtime. Tickets may still be available for purchase in the office after online sales have ended. Call 828-669-0930 for more information.

About Soluna's Members:

Mariya Potapova, violin 

St. Petersburg native Mariya Potapova grew up in a family of musicians and began playing the violin at age 8.  She continued her studies in Knoxville, TN, when her family moved to the United States in 1999, and at the University of North Carolina Asheville, where she holds Bachelor degrees in Music and Psychology.  She soloed with the Blue Ridge Civic Orchestra, after having won the Blue Ridge Concerto Competition in 2006. Her primary teachers have been Inez Hullinger Redman, Vladimir Gentselt, Vadim Voyler, and Emma Polonskaya of St.Petersburg School of the Arts.

 Mariya leads a multi-faceted performing life in the Asheville and Greenville, SC areas.  She is a member of the Asheville Symphony, Greenville Symphony, Hendersonville Symphony, Symphony of the Mountains, Soluna String Quartet, Opal String Quartet, and Vakama Piano Trio, and performs with many other local orchestras.  She collaborates with a wide range of classical and non-classical ensembles, including the Kruger Brothers, Pan Harmonia, Meadowlark Quartet, Free Planet Radio, The Get Right Band.  Equally at home performing musicals, Mariya has frequented the orchestra pit at the Flat Rock Playhouse and Western Carolina University. Mariya has also been a part of many recording projects for various bands and movie soundtracks.

Jonathan Urizar, violin 

Greenville, SC based violinist, Jonathan Urizar studied Violin Performance at Kennesaw State University. Jonathan’s teachers have included Lana Teko, Juan and Carol Ramirez, and Helen Kim. In addition to maintaining a small private teaching studio, he performs as the concertmaster of the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra, a position he has maintained since 2017. In May 2025, Jonathan performed the Sibelius concerto with the Dekalb Symphony. Jonathan also performs with several other orchestras across the southeast such as the Savannah Philharmonic, Asheville and Chattanooga symphonies among others, in early music ensemble Pan Harmonia, and with the Soluna String Quartet. Jonathan also enjoys performing in the pit orchestra for touring Broadway shows at the Fox Theatre.

Additionally, Jonathan serves as the co-founder and lead violinist in Atlanta based mariachi group- Mariachi Búhos de Oro. He performs on an award winning contemporary instrument completed in 2014 by Pablo Alfaro in Decatur, GA. Outside of his musical life, you can find him most often on a yoga mat, running on a trail, traveling, or cuddling with his cat Luna.

Cameron Rehberg 

Cameron Rehberg is a freelance violist based in Asheville, NC. Performing with many symphonies in the Appalachian region, he has served as the Principal violist of the Brevard Philharmonic, and Assistant Principal violist with the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, since 2018 and 2022. He received his Bachelors of Music in Viola performance from UNT, and an Artist Certificate from the University of Tennessee where he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant to Hillary Herndon. Additionally Mr. Rehberg has studied privately with Bruce Williams, Cynthia Roberts, Dr. Ames Asbell, Dr. Susan Dubois, and Dr. Wendy Richman. 

Mr. Rehberg has attended the Big Ears, Sewanee, Roundtop, and Montecito festivals, the Karen Tuttle Coordination Workshop, and the Winter Viola Intensive. Cameron is a sought after chamber musician having collaborated with artists such as Carol Rodland, Kristin Wolfe Jensen, Nancy Buck, Eric Reed, Eric Wong, Stephen Balderston, Erica Kiesewetter, and Brett Shurtliffe. Cameron has also collaborated with popular artists Tim McGraw, Josh Groban, the Kruger Brothers and the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Cameron is a certified Suzuki instructor and frequently attends Suzuki teacher training events, working closely with Teri Einfeldt, Lynn McCall, and April Losey.

Ashlee Booth

Ashlee Booth is a cellist and educator based in Asheville, NC. Ashlee received her Bachelor’s in Cello Performance from Florida State University where she graduated cum laude and with Honors. Afterwards, she completed a Masters in Cello Performance at University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she was a Graduate Teaching Assistant and cellist in the Graduate String Quartet. Ashlee has studied with Greg Sauer, Wesley Baldwin, and Michael Haber of the Cleveland Orchestra. 


Ashlee is a passionate performer who advocates for performing music outside of the traditional classical canon. She frequently plays in ensembles from a diverse range of genres from symphony orchestras, string quartets, honky-tonk bands, to many others in between. As an educator, Ashlee is passionate about providing her students with guidance that allows them to explore their creativity and passions while cultivating a strong technical and theoretical foundation. She maintains a small private studio and is the Divertimento Conductor in the Asheville Youth Symphony Orchestra program.
