Solstice Sanctuary Retreat

Sanctuary Retreats are curated sacred spaces to honor the turning of the seasons that include restorative practices, seasonal wisdom, meaningful ritual, and intentional community. During this winter Solstice Sanctuary Retreat, you are invited to enter into the sacred silence during the darkest night of the year to tend to your inner spark and celebrate the return of the light. We will explore the Celtic mythology of the Cailleach, warm our hearts with a shamanic fire ceremony, surrender to the deep rest of yoga nidra, and linger in the quiet spaces of journaling & reflection. Let us come together to tend to our heart-fires and embody this wisdom to sustain us through the remaining winter season.
Our shamanic fire ceremony will feature a Despacho, a beautiful Indigenous Andean tradition rooted in ayni, or sacred reciprocity, and gratitude for Pachamama, Mother Earth. A Despacho is a “living prayer,” a colorful, mandala-like bundle created collectively from symbolic offerings such as flowers, seeds, herbs, and written intentions. Once complete, the Despacho will be offered to the fire, transforming the offerings held within it and carrying our collective prayers and intentions upward through the smoke as we honor the gradual return of the light.
What to bring: Participants are invited to bring 3-5 small, natural and biodegradable offerings to contribute to our collective Despacho. These might include fresh or dried flowers, a small amount of seeds or grains, dried herbs or incense, leaves, feathers, or another meaningful natural element. You may also wish to bring a written prayer, gratitude, or intention to include. Please choose offerings you are comfortable parting with, as everything placed within the Despacho will become part of the ceremonial bundle and will be offered to the fire.
There is no need to purchase anything special. Some materials will also be provided, and the meaning or intention you bring to your offering is more important than the offering itself.
Please dress comfortably and bring layers appropriate for spending part of our time outdoors for the fire ceremony. Participants are also encouraged to bring a yoga mat, blankets, pillows, or other comfort items that will help you settle in for the day’s restorative practices, along with a journal and something to write with.
About the leaders:
ANJI KAT: Anji creates transformational spaces for individuals navigating life transitions using her gifts as an intuitive, certified wellness coach, and long-time certified yoga & mindfulness teacher. She has spent 25 years as a wellness consultant designing wellbeing spaces for organizations and their teams, as well as facilitating deeply nourishing spiritual and wellbeing retreats over the course of her career. Her passion is helping others live “soul-fully” by reclaiming their personal power and learning to harness the rhythms of nature as the foundation of true health and wellbeing.
GINA MOLBY: Gina is a certified energy practitioner, Reiki Master, Qigong instructor, earth steward, and ordained minister whose work blends ancient wisdom and sacred practices with a grounded understanding of the body, nervous system, and human experience. Through personal transformation coaching, energy work, and mind-body practices, she helps people reconnect with themselves, release what no longer serves them, and cultivate greater clarity, resilience, presence, and steady energy.
Gina believes any meaningful transformation begins within. Her grounded, heart-centered approach invites people to loosen inherited definitions of success and old patterns of disconnection, creating space for greater authenticity, peace, purpose, and freedom.
