All are welcome to celebrate the Solemnity of St. Joseph on March 19 with Mass at 6 pm, followed by a traditional St. Joseph Table in the lower level of the church.
According to tradition, a drought in medieval Sicily prompted the people to pray for rain through the intercession of St. Joseph. After the rain fell, the people brought food to a large table in honor of St. Joseph to share with each other and with others in need. The St. Joseph Table became an annual tradition on or near St. Joseph's feast day (March 19) that has spread from Sicily across cultures.
Please bring a side dish or dessert to share, and/or make a donation to the parish St. Vincent de Paul Society that serves those in need. You are welcome to partake of the St. Joseph Table whether you are able to contribute or not. St. Joseph, earthly father of Christ, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and patron of the universal Church – pray for us!
