Hello All,
The Wounded Warrior Project is supporting a group of 80 veterans riding from Jacksonville to New York to celebrate the 250th US anniversary. The ride is scheduled to leave Thursday May 14th at WWP headquarters with a brief ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and ride departure at 10:00 a.m. Anyone interesting in attending the sendoff please see the information below. Here are the details. Recommend they arrive no later than 8:30m as parking will be tight. They may want to park around back of all three buildings. All guest riders will be responsible for their own transportation to and from ride start and wherever they choose to finish.

8:30am - Guests arrive
9:00am - Warriors arrive (Veterans doing the ride)
9:30am - Ceremony begins
10:00am - Ride Starts
We will be police escorted. All guest riders should be behind the WWP Van, but if the group of guest riders is small enough we will place them in front of the van. But they all must remain behind our Warriors riding. This is a heavily adaptive ride therefore the pace will be approx. 10mph.
10:00am - Ride Start
From WWP we will turn right onto Belfort RD heading toward the JTB. Left toward Phillips HWY. Right on Phillips and head toward downtown, somewhat through San Marco. Over the Main ST Bridge. We will stop at the USS Orleck Museum for a water stop and say goodbye to our Jacksonville Jaguar Legends Players joining us. This is I at the 10 mile marker. About a 15 minute water stop and photo shoot. Guest riders are welcome to end here but will need to find their way back to vehicles.
11:30am - Back on the bikes. Back over Main ST Bridge toward The Chart House and NEWS4JAX. Final destination is the Mayport Ferry where the Warriors will switch groups. This is the 30 mile marker and recommend all guest riders end here but will need transportation back to their vehicles which we cannot provide.
12:00pm - Approx time next group of riders will begin their 30 mile ride. Get on the ferry and we will ride up to Fernandina Beach and into Ft Clinch State Park then to our hotel. We will not have entry fees covered for guest riders into the State Park.
Expect to be at hotel by 5pm. That is a long 62 miles time wise but we build in contingency due to expected pace and if any mechanical or physical issues arise.
