About this Event
In partnership with Northside Community Involvement, Inc, we are excited to announce the Black Parent Outreach: An Initiative to Include & Inform.
The purpose of this group is to help spread awareness of the characteristics and disparities of developmental, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social disorders /disabilities to practitioners and Black families. Ultimately, this group will help to build trust between communities as well as a sense of understanding for caregivers so that they are equipped with information to help bridge the gap with identification and problems with disparities.

Info: Shawnta Pride, a proud West Helena, Arkansas native, made Florida home in high school and went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bethune-Cookman University and Nova Southeastern University. A former educator and school leader with over 12 years in Duval County Public Schools, Shawnta has also served as an adjunct professor and currently brings her leadership skills to The Daniels Law Firm as firm administrator. She’s a devoted mom of two and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., known for her passion for education, service, and community empowerment. Shawnta and her daughters were faced with a tragic life-changing situation in May 2015. Due to a bad car accident, Shawnta's oldest daughter was left with a Traumatic Brain Injury. With no hesitation, of course Shawnta became her advocate and primary care giver.

With ten years of committed service to the organization, he derives satisfaction from collaborating with the program management team. Presently, he plays an active role throughout the organization to ensure seamless operations and achieve successful outcomes. Additionally, he has contributed as a trainer and manager within our operations department.
