People on waitlist will be notified if spot becomes available and get first dibs if/when the class is offered again. ***Students must submit a photo of their pet to [email protected] for approval by January 10th, 2025***.
- Ashlee creates an outline sketch of each pet for each student. You will receive an email back letting you know if the photo submitted works for this project.
- See examples of good and bad pet photos in this listing/comment section of event.
- Pet photos are best taken in well-lit, even lighting at eye level to pet with all pet features in focus.
- If a photo is not submitted and approved by Jan 10th or you do not have a pet photo, you can paint the example pup.
In this workshop, participants will learn how to transform a photo of their pet into a rainbow masterpiece.
All materials needed for workshop are provided.
Beginner friendly and all skill levels welcome 🥰. No prior drawing/painting experience needed!
Age Level: 16+ (children 10+ may join if accompanied by an adult).

Basic Techniques: Students will learn foundational watercolor techniques such as water-to-paint ratio, creating variegated color washes, color mixing, wet-on-wet technique, and splatter. Students will also learn how to transfer pet photos/sketches to watercolor paper. We will delve a little into mixed media with the use of posca paint markers and metallic gel pens.
Skill Development for All Levels: This class will cater to all skill levels, ensuring guidance and support to help each student achieve their artistic vision. No prior drawing or watercolor experience needed to participate.
