In the early medieval period, the village of Repton was the setting for dramatic events involving monarchs, murder and marauding Vikings. It was, at various times, a burial ground of kings and a military stronghold. This talk examines the stories two men who were buried at Repton “ a Saint and a Viking “ and looks at what recent archaeology can tell us about our local history and the Viking age.
