My Own Inner Trilobite - Reconnecting with Ancient Fossils that Nourish Our SoilsA workshop exploring the phosphorus crisis, soil literacy, and future alliances through storytelling, fossil creation, and soil analysis!
This engaging workshop addresses the phosphorus crises and enhances soil literacy through sharing stories and collective making. We would like to invite participants to emerge themselves in the world of soil. We will travel to the deep geological past of Budapest’s fossils, explore the humus under our own feet using traditional agricultural knowledge and imagine collective futures through the creation of decomposing fossils. Participants will enrich the land, create new alliances with human and more-than-human communities and discover their own inner Cambrian creatures.
Participants are asked to bring a handful of soil from their environment to be analysed during the workshop.

WORKSHOP LEADS
Fuzzy Earth is a research-based creative practice formed by Tekla Gedeon and Sebastian Gschanes. They operate at the intersection of architecture, design, art, agriculture, horticulture, and technology, while our mediums go beyond these categories. Fuzzy Earth builds alternative worlds and reveals unseen layers of entanglements across species in the era of climate crises to inspire a more inclusive and resilient future. Fuzzy Earth creates spaces, objects, and events that explore our relationship with nature and technology. Through the application of speculative design methodologies, our work challenges the role of ecological environments, industrial landscapes, and botanical institutions.
