With more than 400 years of history and hauntings. Ancestral home of the Manners-Sutton family connected to the Dukes of Rutland, Barons Lexington and the Marquees of Granby. King Charles I was held captive here at Kelham for several days after his capture in the English Civil War. This is the third Kelham Hall built on this site, as the previous two Halls burned down mysteriously, leading some to think this land holds a curse. Monks also lived in this Hall for many decades.
Many ghosts are said to haunt Kelham Hall, from spectres of monks walking the hallways, a Pale Blue Lady sensed on the walkway above the Music Hall, former residents of the Manners-Sutton family as many died within the Hall, and a ghostly Cavalier seen on the grounds whom many believe to be Charles I himself. Lights turn themselves on and off, doors have been heard opening and closing, shadows have been seen numerous times from both team and guests, and taps, knocks and disembodied voices have also been heard. Most recently back in February, one of our guests taking a selfie captured the ghostly face of an elderly person, which to this day we still can't debunk.
