More than six million Brazilians (mostly black women) work as domestic workers, often under harsh conditions and for low pay. In this powerful documentary, filmmaker Karol Maia explores their lives through interviews, personal memories, and historical research, revealing stories of racism, exploitation, and resilience. Inspired by her own mother’s experience, Maia also reflects on how collective struggle and the black movement helped secure labor rights for domestic workers in Brasil.
