AUFHEBUNG (BE - Post-metal)
The Brussels-based band draws from contemporary acts in post-rock and doom metal, but also noise rock, hardcore and progressive music. It transforms these influences by injecting walloping arrangements, impactful contrasts, destabilizing rhythms and crushing noise into the canvas.
Often described as filmic, atmospheric and reflective, AUFHEBUNG takes you on a drive past the scenic and the not-so-scenic route of the psyche.
They debuted with the full length 'Chasms' in 2020. Recording, mix and mastering were done in Hasselt (BE) at the Farrm studios by technician Jan Viggria (The Guru Guru, Statue,...).
The five-piece tries to push boundaries live and work with extremities on several levels. This is exemplified in the homage to pure slowness, a deliberate attack on groove, harmonic disarray and a favor for ear-piercing, god-defying, distorted grit.
