Come out to the Champlain Islands Farmers Market on Wednesday May 28 from 3-6pm for Soil Day at St. Rose of Lima Church in South Hero.NRCS will be providing free, confidential on-site soil screenings with a portable X-ray fluorescence (PXRF) analyzer to detect lead and heavy metals in soils.
Bring 2 cups of your soil in a sealed, plastic bag (follow the directions in the graphic) and NRCS will perform a heavy metals analysis and give you the results on the spot!
