In late-80s Tokyo, Shibuya became a meeting point for record shops, fashion, imported sounds and young urban life, where taste became a way of being cool.

The music of Shibuya-kei carried that feeling: stylish, curious and quietly sentimental, full of small apartments, closing record shops, night streets and the last train home.
