Pulse to Presence: A New Year’s Eve Journey from Dance to Deep Reset at Soft MedicineWelcome the new year in a different way, with intention, ritual and presence — through an immersive sound journey.From 8pm–10pm in the upstairs Soft Medicine space, sink into bass music DJ sets with:

Zaphod (8pm)
Buckminster, aka DJ Zaphod, was introduced to conscious dance as a baby, immersed in the Santa Cruz dance scene in 2014, and has been on the decks since 2017. He's now the curator of a monthly ecstatic dance in Sebastopol since 2021.

Together with the dancers, he spontaneously curates an ecstatic wave unique to that moment's dancefloor. The boundaries of genre give way to a multi-faceted soundscape, with a healthy blend of World House, down-tempo Bass music, polyrhythms, and melodies aplenty– with a heartfelt story that weaves it all together. The style can only be described as “tastefully eclectic,” with a focus on downtempo, spaciousness, dynamism, and “music with feeling.”

​Ezekeal Zion (9pm)
Ezekeal Zion is swiftly gaining recognition and admiration within his communities for his vibrant performances and eclectic musical style. His captivating performances at festivals and events such as Unison, Northern Nights, Star Vibes Campout, Embodiment (Guatemala), and appearances at Lucidity and Lighting in a Bottle have showcased his growing prominence. His evolving sound captivates audiences, offering a rich tapestry of musical experiences.

From 10pm–12am in the same upstairs room, Polarity shifts into an intentional sound experience, weaving ambient soundscapes, improvised live music, and a deep, immersive sound healing to gently guide you from motion into stillness.

Upstairs: Sonic Journey & Sound Prayer (10pm–12am)

Across two hours, you’ll be invited into:

• Transitional ambient beats to soften the landing from the bass music

• Live ambient improvisations with instruments like handpan, upright bass, violin, didgeridoo, chimes, and flute

• Crystal bowl + vocal sound bath led by Jessie, inviting deep rest and inner listening

• Subtle sound healing textures (ocean drum, chimes, drones, nature sounds) to support meditation and quiet movement

• A midnight sound prayer & intention-setting moment, held lovingly by Jessie, to consciously welcome the new year

You’re welcome to:

• Lie down on mats and bolsters

• Sit in meditation

• Move and sway slowly

• Drop in for part of the journey or stay for the full two hours

Upstairs from 10pm onward will be a non-talking, low-light, contemplative space — a spacious contrast in energy and pace to most New Year’s Eve events.

Downstairs: Tea House & Elixirs

Throughout the evening, downstairs, Soft Medicine will be open with elixirs, tea house and food so you can:• Partake in festive drinks to celebrate NYE 2026!

• Take breaks for tea, elixirs, food & socializing

• Move between upstairs sound and downstairs nourishment
