*Workshop 1 — Saturday, November 28 · 6:00–7:30 PM*
**MUSICALITY WORKSHOP: THE ART OF DIALOGUE IN TANGO**
With Diego Santana & Giselle Bobolis
True musicality is not about doing more steps per second, but about how we inhabit time and transform the dance into a genuine two-person conversation.
In this 100% practical workshop we will work on:
· The elasticity of time: how to play with single time, double time, and half time with fluidity and technique.
· Interpretation: how to use the body and the embrace to dance the earth of the rhythm or the air of the melody.
· Tango as dialogue: proposal, active listening, and response within the couple.
· When to wait and when to create: the value of the pause, silence, and how to give space so both can interpret the music.
Stop executing figures and start playing with the music!
*Workshop 2 — Sunday, November 29 · 1:30–2:45 PM*
**MILONGA UNLOCKED — Confidence, Rhythm & Play**
Have you ever wanted to feel more confident, relaxed, and musical when dancing Milonga? Milonga Unlocked is designed to help you understand the rhythm, let go of hesitation, and discover the freedom and playfulness that make Milonga so much fun. Giselle and Diego will guide you through rhythm, syncopation, changes in dynamics, accents, pauses, and improvisation, showing you how to respond naturally to the music without relying on complicated sequences. You'll learn how to use simple movements in different ways, play with the beat, connect with your partner, and make confident choices even when the music feels fast. We'll also explore the secrets of improvisation — how to listen, react, create, and adapt in the moment while staying connected to both the music and your partner. The workshop includes a special Q&A and personalized guidance segment, where students can ask questions, work on specific challenges, and receive practical feedback. Whether you're just starting with Milonga or already dance it and want to feel more free and musical, this workshop will help you unlock the next level of confidence, creativity, and enjoyment. Fun. Musical. Playful. Fearless. Unlock your Milonga. Feel the rhythm. Enjoy the dance.
*Workshop 3 — Sunday, November 29 · 3:00–4:15 PM*
**Musicality & Interpretation of Different Orchestras**
Discover how the music of each orchestra can completely transform the way you dance. In this workshop, Giselle and Diego will explore the distinctive styles, rhythms, phrasing, dynamics, and emotions of different tango orchestras, helping dancers recognize their character and respond through movement. We will work with musical elements such as phrasing, pauses, accents, rhythm, double time, contrasts and changes in energy, and how these affect the embrace, quality of movement, timing, and choice of steps. The goal is not to learn more figures, but to discover how the same movement can feel entirely different depending on the orchestra. Through practical exercises, dancers will train a deeper way of listening in order to make clearer choices in their dance. Listen differently, feel differently, dance each orchestra in a different way.
