Socks4Souls: 18th Annual Thankful to Give Event
About this Event
Community Service on Thanksgiving morning is the best way to start your day!
Since 2009, Socks4Souls USA (S4S) has brought volunteers together to serve people experiencing homelessness in a simple but meaningful way: person to person.
On Thursday, November 26, 2026, we invite you to join us for our 18th Annual Thankful to Give event.
We’ll gather at 8:30 AM and begin serving at 9:00 AM, distributing socks, hygiene essentials, water, and other necessities directly to people experiencing homelessness in DTLA.
But Thankful to Give has never been only about what we hand out.
We also pass out conversations. We share smiles. We give compassion. We strive to make anyone we come in contact with feel seen.
Instead of simply dropping donations off, our volunteers walk into the community together and personally connect with the people we serve. Sometimes that means handing someone a hygiene kit. Sometimes it means sharing a laugh, listening to a story, or simply taking a moment to say, “I see you.”
That human connection is at the heart of Socks4Souls.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE
VOLUNTEER:
Join us Thanksgiving morning and serve alongside us. Individuals, families, friends, organizations, and groups are welcome.
DONATE:
Help us fill our hygiene kits by purchasing the needed essentials from our Amazon Wish List.
SPREAD THE WORD:
Can’t attend in person? Share this event with your family, friends, coworkers, church, organization, or social network. Everyone can contribute in some way.

8:30 AM — Volunteer gathering, preparation & group photo
9:00 AM — Thankful to Give Event begins
9:00–10:30 AM — Walk together, distribute essentials & connect with our neighbors
Approximately 11:00 AM — Event concludes
WHY WE DO IT
Socks4Souls started with a simple idea: a small act can remind someone that they matter.
Yes, we give socks and hygiene essentials. But more importantly, we give conversation, connection, dignity, and compassion.
This Thanksgiving, bring your family, bring a friend, and spend a few hours truly seeing and serving our unhoused neighbors.
