Society Hall, at 400 Ross Avenue in Alamosa, is thrilled to bring the #1 songwriter and 2-time Grammy winner Gary Nicholson to Alamosa on April 26th. Doors will open at 6:30 pm with the show beginning at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 and are available at the link below or in Alamosa at The Green Spot, 711 State Avenue. The concert will also stream live on the Society Hall Facebook page and You-Tube channel.Gary Nicholson is a number one hit songwriter, two time Grammy winning record producer and recording artist. He was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2011 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame class of 2022. There are over seven hundred recordings of his songs in various genres including country, blues, rock, folk, Americana, bluegrass, and pop. Area audiences may be familiar with Gary from his several appearances at the well-known Taos Big Barn Dance Festival, where his great bluesy tunes, fine guitar work, easy-going stage presence and wry humor have made him a perennial crowd favorite.
The almost unbelievable list of his songs written by Nicholson and recorded by others include country cuts by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks, George Strait, George Jones, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Chris Stapleton, Trisha Yearwood, Don Williams, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Patty Loveless, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, The Chicks, Reba McEntire, Alabama, The Mavericks, The Judds, Wynonna, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, T Graham Brown, Lee Roy Parnell, Billy Currington, Toby Keith, Gary Allan, Montgomery Gentry, Conway Twitty, Travis Tritt, Ronnie Milsap, Tanya Tucker, John Anderson, Guy Clark, Pam Tillis, Billy Joe Shaver, and the list goes on.

His songs have also been included in many major motion pictures and television, including his song “Falling and Flying", which is featured in the Oscar winning film “Crazy Heart” performed by Jeff Bridges.
In addition to his two Grammy winning records with Delbert McClinton, he has produced records for Billy Joe Shaver, Marcia Ball, The Judds, Wynonna, Pam Tillis, T Graham Brown, Chris Knight, Seth Walker and many others.
Besides his amazing success as a songwriter and producer, Gary is also a great guitarist and powerful performer in his own right, with a wry sense of humor and an engaging stage presence.
