Save the date! Join us October 17-19, 2025 in Hilo for the Society for Hawaiian Archaeology's 38th annual conference, hosted at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. This year's theme, "Ka manu kahea i ka wa'a e holo"— The bird that calls the canoe to sail, refers to the manu kioea, whose early morning call signaled canoes to depart for fishing or voyaging. This theme invites us to reflect on archaeology and wahi kūpuna stewardship as voyages of learning and kuleana across past, present, and future.
