Have you ever wondered how places in Ireland got their names? Legend is that the River Shannon is named after King Lir’s granddaughter, who drowned in the river. Rath deHoust, well known Irish language instructor for Daltaí na Gaeilge, Brookdale College and the Irish Cultural Center of Western New England, will share the legends and stories behind some of the most common places in Ireland. Rath has over 20 years of experience teaching the Irish language and travels to Ireland annually to study with native speakers in the Gaeltacht. Free for Society and FSOS Belmar members.
$10 donation requested from guests.
