Kristen May has been a music lover since she was in diapers. Born to a family always spinning records or rocking out on drums. Kristen’s Mom taught her to sing in the car while driving to and from dance rehearsal and soccer practice.
Kristen picked up an acoustic guitar at age 17 and began to write her own songs. When it was time for college, Kristen auditioned for the music program at Belmont University in Nashville and this is where she began to grow her passion for songwriting. In 2003 Kristen went on the road with her band Vedera making memories and a name for herself in the grassroots pop rock scene. In 2007, she and her band signed with Epic Records. They toured with bands like The Fray, The Wallflowers, Copeland and aside Sarah Mclachlan and the Dixie Chicks at Lilith Fair. After Vedera disbanded, Kristen joined the rock band Flyleaf for three years where she helped write the popular album “Between the Stars.” Her touring of the US and beyond continued and she met many awesome people and continued to share her love for music in a high energy environment.
Kristen started a family with Brian, her husband and guitarist in 2015 and there she decided to put out a solo album titled “Conversations” including a song written for her new son Graham.
Brian and Kristen decided to plant roots in their home of Independence, Missouri and have been playing acoustic sets for special events for a few years now. Packed with songs from many genres, they love to create a unique experience full of songs that resonate with their audience. Kristen’s beautiful voice and Brian’s guitar playing make for a perfect complement to any coffee shop hang or backyard bbq. Kristen is writing new music currently and loves to share her story with new friends.
